Integrative Holistic Medicine

Dr. Omar Ansari is trained in Integrative Holistic Medicine, which is defined by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine as “the art and science of healing that addresses care of the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.” Dr. Ansari develops a partnership with his patient to discover the underlying problem and treats the cause rather than suppressing the symptoms alone. He treats the whole person, not just the disease, often incorporating homeopathy, nutritional medicines and spiritual counseling into his treatment plan.

Homeopathy involves treatment with highly diluted substances, given mainly in tablet form, with the goal being to trigger the body’s natural system of healing.

Nutritional medicine is the supplementation of diet with nutrients, intermediary metabolic products and probiotics to prevent illness and improve health and healing.

While washing hands is the first line of defense in fighting seasonal flu, the physicians at Porter Physician Group recommend an annual flu shot. It is important to get flu shot every year because the strains of flu are constantly changing and the immunity offered by the vaccine is not very long lasting.

Adult & Children Immunizations

Immunizations have helped children stay healthy for more than 50 years. They are safe and they work. In fact, vaccinations have reduced the number of infections from vaccine-preventable diseases by more than 90 percent. Unless exempt, The State of Indiana requires that school age children to be immunized before entering school. Let Porter Physician Group help your child stay current to stay healthy.

  • Required Childhood & Adolescent Immunizations
  • HPV
  • Zoster (shingles)
  • Pneumococcal (pneumonia)
  • Seasonal Influenza (flu)
  • Varicella (chicken pox)
  • Hepatitis A/Hepatitis B

We recommend you check with your insurance company to ensure these immunizations are covered.
